Reka Zoltan's art is a reflection of her observations, emotions, experiences, being and ideology. She has always been an observer of life, people, their environment, emotional aspects, and characteristics.
She enjoys expressing herself mainly using the graphic arts - drawing, intaglio etchings, lithographs, serigraphs, woodcuts, watercolors and other print media. These media have limitless possibilities of expression for her.
She has shown in galleries in Toronto, Windsor, Memphis, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Dusseldorf, Birmingham. She is a member of The Scarab Club, The Ann Arbor Women Artist, The Ann Arbor Art Center, The Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors.
She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Chemistry and a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Science complements art as both involve observation and a response to the observation. Studying anatomy as a science was a great advantage to figurative art. Chemical reactions was a benefit for printmaking. Botany created a greater appreciation of nature. These are some of the aspects of combining science and art.
Reka was born in Germany, her family background is Hungarian from the Carpathian Basin. Her immediate family came to America when she was a child. She still keeps connections with her family all over the world. This international relationship is also been a large influence on her artwork.
